CHSS Project Coming to an End

Date published: 17th May 2016

Following a difficult decision by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland we have to report that our specialist project delivered in partnership with CHSS will come to an end on 30th June 2016.

The popular project has been part of CARF services for several years and provided specialist advice to clients helping ensure that the associated financial difficulties often associated with a long term health related condition were mitigated as far as possible in order for clients to concentrate on their recovery.  In 2015-16, the project was responsible for over £500,000 in client financial gain made up primarily of increased benefit awards.

David Redpath, CARF’s Business Development Manager, commented, “It is with disappointment that we have to report the end of such a successful project.  Given the testing times in which we operate, CHSS have had to make a very difficult decision with regards to ongoing funding.  Our attention now turns to how we can continue to help those affected by long term health conditions and ensure those in need receive the help they require”.

Whilst there may no longer be a dedicated service for those suffering with chest, heart or stroke related illnesses, CARF can still provide advice via our general telephone advice line 0345 1400 095 or through our frontline office network.
