Holiday Travel Problems?

Holiday travel isn’t always fun

As thousands enjoy the school holidays, many of us will be looking to travel abroad for weeks in the sun.  However, as an unfortunate few may find out, holiday travel isn’t always the fun that might be expected.

With so many flights nowadays, most are aware of the potential for minor delays but few are aware of the compensation potentially available to them for long delays at airports.  If you're delayed by more than three hours or your flight's cancelled, under EU rule 261/2004 you may be entitled to between £100 and £500 in compensation – and it's possible to claim this for free.

David Redpath, CARF’s Business Development Manager said “Flying to Bulgaria this year, one engine in the plane failed meaning a 7 hour stopover in Denmark.  I wasn’t aware of the compensation available to us but now that I am, I will be looking to recover the costs due to me”.

If you have been affected by long delays in flights you can get further advice by contacting CARF on 0345 1400 095.
